Discount rate variation under the Scenario data management

Hi everyone,

I would like to clarify how discount rates are currently handled across scenarios in OSeMOSYS.

If I am not wrong, it is not possible to change the discount rates—neither globally (DiscountRate) nor technology-specifically (DiscountRateTech)—as dynamic parameters within scenarios in standard setups.

To assess the impact of different discount rates on the results, my understanding is that the proper way is to create separate cases/model rather than using a scenario switch within a single model run.

Could someone confirm if this understanding is correct? Additionally, is there any plan to allow discount rates to be defined dynamically by scenario in future releases, or is generating separate case intended to remain the standard approach?

Dear @CorentinAmi,It is totally possible to change both the global Discount Rate and the individual discount rates (Idv) using the scenario settings, just as you would for any other parameter. You simply need to go to the corresponding parameter and open the scenario data to change the values, as shown in the images below.
