Hello everyone,
I am working on a model of Vietnam’s power system using OSeMOSYS on MUIO interface. I am trying to calibrate the results by changing the Total Technology Annual Activity Lower Limit (according to this tutorial), but I just get infeasible results. Does anyone know what might cause this problem? And how to fix it? Below is the screenshot of my CBC solver log.
Thank you.
Hi ,
Nice to meet you! I am Kane, the current Model Curator for CLEWs, but I use OSeMOSYS all the time, so hopefully I can help!
Without viewing the data file or model itself, it would be a hard to state with certainty. However, I would assume that you are limiting a technology (or multiple) too much, therefore they cannot fulfil a demand. What tech or techs have you changed the Total Technology Annual Activity Lower Limit for?
Hello there,
Nice to meet you and thank you for your answer! My model runs from 2020 - 2050, and I have real-life data of the electricity generation and installed by technologies from 2020 - 2024. The technologies are: Coal, NGS, Oil-fired, Biomass, Solar, Hydropower (Small, Medium, Large), Wind (Offshore and Onshore), Geothermal, and Nuclear Power Plant.
I set the Total Annual Activity Lower Limit from 2020 - 2024 by the real-life data for all technologies, and let them linearly decrease from 2025 onwards. I also set the Maximum Capacity for technologies with limited potential such as Geothermal, Biomass, and Hydropower Plant, but I keep maximum for the rest.
I really hope this information can give you some context on the problem I encounter. Really appreciate your help and advice!
