I am having an issue with Question 3 of the Hands-on 12 quiz.
I ran the OSeHO12 model using MUIO v5.6 and checked Production by Technology by Mode for PWRNGS in 2035. My model result is 22.23 PJ, which rounds to 22 PJ as requested in the question.
However, both 22 and 22.23 are marked incorrect. I also checked Use by Technology by Mode, which shows 46.24 PJ, but this represents natural gas consumed by the power plant, not electricity production.
The Hands-on 12 document also states that the behaviour of the power sector is identical to Hands-on 11.
I have attached screenshots of the model results. Could you please confirm the expected value or check whether there may be an issue with the answer key?
Dear @winwul, due to recent updates to the MUIO version, there are some differences in the results that are not yet reflected in the course material. As a result, the behaviour of the power sector may not be identical to that shown in Hands-on 11. In this case, I would recommend revisiting Hands-on 12 and repeating the steps. I have checked the reference case on my end, and it does not reproduce the results you are obtaining.
After a second try, I got the same answer as you did. Meanwhile, I have a question to you @Fernando_Plazas . Why the answer key to 1st question in the quiz is different from the diagram that you placed in hands-on 12?
Dear @Vicki, my apologies, but the graphs in the hands-on materials are outdated. As you can see, they were produced using a previous version of MUIO. We are currently working on updating the materials and hope to have the revised version ready by the end of this month.
