The fellow will develop the CLEWs-C2070 integrated Climate Land, Energy and Water systems model for Canada (80% of duties). The CLEWs-C2070 project will model different pathways to 2070 to test Canada’s climate and SDG commitments, evaluate indigenous governance implications, and bring together decisionmakers to address policy priorities. > - The Postdoctoral Fellow will lead development of CLEWs-C2070 energy systems model, integrating existing land and water models into a single energy systems model. Specific duties include: > - Modelling the interactions between bioenergy, hydrogen and carbon removal options > - Assessing pathways in hard to decarbonize sectors (such as heavy industry), including land and water use implications > - Exploring future scenarios under different technological and policy uncertainty > The fellow will be responsible for the energy and the model integration for CLEW-C2070 and will work with colleagues from UBC (forest and agriculture models), SFU (Indigenous governance) and Carleton (Stakeholder Engagement) to successfully build the model and disseminate policy outcomes. > Additionally, the fellow will dedicate 20% of their appointment to project administrative activities, including coordinating project team communications and meetings, maintaining project documentation and related paperwork, etc. Feel free to share widely!
