OSeMOSYS new user

I am a new user of OSeMOSYS. Recently, I came across a research article in which the authors predicted energy demand over the next 50 years. After reading it, I became interested in applying a similar approach to analyze only the transportation energy demand in my country. The article provided a GitHub link to their code, but their implementation was done in Python, and they also provided Excel data. I have watched a YouTube tutorial on running simulations with clickSAND, but I could not fully understand how to replicate the same process in Python. I would be extremely grateful to anyone who could guide me in doing this. Here is the reference code link:The OSeMOSYS – CR model — OSeMOSYS-CR 1.0.a documentation

Dear Tonu,

We now have a new, user-friendly interface for OSeMOSYS. You can learn how to use it step by step through our free Open University course: OLCreate: PUB_9213_1.0 Energy System Modelling using the Modelling User Interface for OSeMOSYS (MUIO)

Best regards,

Fernando

Hi Tonu, if you are interested in simulating energy demand take a look at the MAED course too (https://www.open.edu/openlearncreate/course/view.php?id=13660). MAED is super useful for deriving final and useful energy demands which are then used as inputs for tools like OSeMOSYS. If you have any questions please get in touch.

Best,

Fynn
