Understanding how energy, land, water, and climate systems interact is essential for designing coherent and resilient policy pathways. Yet many modelling tools treat these systems in isolation, limiting our ability to capture cross-sectoral trade-offs and synergies.
The EU Horizon Europe project DIAMOND is organising a webinar to introduce the nexus model CLEWs-EU to the modelling community on Tuesday, 22 September 2026, 13:00 – 14:00 CEST. CLEWs-EU is a Climate, Land, Energy and Water Systems (CLEWs) model developed for the EU, available in both an aggregated EU27 version and a disaggregated national version. Built within the OSeMOSYS framework, it identifies cost-efficient pathways for the future energy-land-water-waste system while meeting climate, energy, food, and water security goals.
This interactive webinar is intended for modellers interested in applying or extending the model, and will introduce its methodology, structure, and available documentation, with a view to supporting hands-on use of the openly available code and data.
