Excited to announce the latest update of the Modelling User Interface for OSeMOSYS (MUIO) β a platform designed to streamline data management, model creation, and scenario analysis for energy system planning.
The new v5.4 release introduces several enhancements aimed at improving performance, flexibility, and usability:
I downloaded and installed MUIO v5.4, I had not yet backed up my models from v5.3 which I have been using. Unfortunately, it looks like v5.3 was automatically upgraded to v5.4 installed and I donβt seem to find a way to recover the models. Anyone knows any magic to recover them?
The screenshot attached is what popped up when I tried to open v5.3 so that I could download and import the models to v5.4
Dear @Alfred, Unfortunately, the new version of MUIO overwrites the previous installation, including all existing models. For this reason, it is critical that users archive their legacy models before upgrading.
The restoration process of model archives executes several scripts designed to ensure backward compatibility. These scripts often introduce new data structures that were not present in earlier model files, and they are applied automatically during the restoration.
If the new version of MUIO is installed without first backing up the old models, those models cannot be recovered and are permanently lost.
